The images in SPLASH 1 seem at first to be quite abstract,
yet close inspection reveals
that they contain fish. Not real fish, but comical, rather badly
made toy fish,
photographed through a macro lens. Decontextualised and with
the surface
texture of the object unnervingly exaggerated, the images become
ambiguous and
psychologically charged.
